Flu season is upon us and there are often times when volunteer teachers for Sunday School and Kids Exploring have sick little (or big) children.
If you can help the Children's Ministry Team by subbing for teachers who cannot be present, please contact Sally Narr or Karen Gorseth. We especially need substitute teachers for the 9:00 a.m. worship service and Kid's Exploring.
The Trustees need you!
We are looking for two people to add to our committee. For one, a person who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and has some expertise in landscaping (keeping the grounds looking good). Another person to be our liaison with the Pumpkin Patch. If you are at all interested or have questions please call Brad Johnson.
Recently Pastor Rhodie and Dick Quick met with Jeff Krasean to explore the possibilities of CUMC participating in sending food from Feed My Starving Children to school children in various areas of the Philippines. The Missions Committee will soon be proposing a plan of action for our involvement. Look for updates soon.
Thanks go out to Paul Harcey, Camp Kingswood Director, for his presentation about the upcoming Urban Servants group experiences (newly named Servant Heart Ministries because the outreach is not all urban).
The expanded Ministries will reach into all age groups. Shortly information will be available about an expanded weekend experience for adults the second week in August 2010. Hopefully many of us adults will pencil mark this week and fill in the details as they become available.
