What if worship was more than a Sunday Morning activity? What if the most "religious" thing you did all week happened far from any church building?
We know-we wonderfully and blessedly know-that God so loved the world that God sent His one and only Son, Jesus, so that the world might be saved. We also know that Jesus calls us to be "like" Him. We are called to be Christ-like. Well, what if that means God now sends you? What if there is a mission, a specific task, tailor made for you?
What if God is yearning to share a specific blessing through you? What if that blessing can only come through you? There are some people in your life that only you know in a certain way. Maybe there is a word of grace or a special blessing that God wants to share through you. Maybe God is calling you to a special act of holiness right now. Maybe God will call you tomorrow.
What if Worship was a time, not just for doing the most religious thing of the week, but for equipping us to go out and to bless richly throughout the whole week? What if worship was a time of refreshment, of rest, of remembering the wonderful holiness of working with God all week long?
Through October, and quite probably beyond, we will be joining with the greater United Methodist church in exploring the question: "What If...".
A church of open doors is nice but what if we were a people opening doors, opening hearts, opening minds to the love of God in Christ.
I am so thankful to see so many here opening up to the love of God and opening others to the love of God through blessings and grace. Just what might God's call on your heart be right now?
It will be fun to ask these questions together and to play around with the Holy Spirit this coming month in Worship.
May you be richly blessed to be nudged by the question, "What if..."
